We design, manufacture and service systems and components and provide integrated solutions for commercial, regional, business and military aircraft, helicopters and other platforms.

We are seeking a highly motivated student in Computer Science or Software Engineering for a 2020 summer internship opportunity at the Vergennes, VT Collins Aerospace facility. The intern will have the opportunity to develop custom software applications that support the manufacturing of aerospace and defense products.

As a Manufacturing Software Engineering Intern at Collins Aerospace you will be a part of a team that is developing software to automate manufacturing tasks and streamline the reporting of operational metrics. You will have the opportunity to implement and test solutions in a real world manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include:

* Design, code, test, integrate, and maintain custom manufacturing software applications
* Analyze and debug defects, identify and code solutions
* Document code, processes, and procedures
* Work with manufacturing teams to understand manufacturing processes in order to improve existing systems

Experience/Qualifications

* Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
* Some experience with Visual Studio, SQL, and/or Visual Basic preferred
* Critical/strategic thinking ability
* Innovative
* Ability to work independently
* Results-oriented
* Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to develop strategy
* Teamwork & Collaboration
* Ability to make sound ethical decisions that drive results

GPA of 3.0 or above is required. GPA of 3.5 or above is desired.

Education

Must be pursuing a bachelor’s/master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

Basic Qualifications:

* Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field of study from an accredited institution
* Must have GPA of 3.0
* Must have completed 30 hours of college coursework
