Job Description:

The Software Development Co-op will work alongside other engineers to develop solutions that will be deployed to the Collins Operations teams. This includes exposure to developing web apps, implementing software solutions, creating micro services, interfacing with NoSQL/SQL databases, etc. These solutions will be connected to our operations application environment and integration tests to ensure a high quality solution.

As Software Development Intern you will…

* Design, develop, and implement solutions using application development tools, e.g. C#, ASP.NET MVC, and/or JavaScript Frameworks, and Visual Studio as a development environment
* Conceive and build unit testable solutions for our manufacturing applications, specifically CIM, Dashboards, SmartFactory4.0 integration
* Work in an agile fashion to develop, estimate, test, and maintain our application tools, while collaborating with team members on product backlog grooming, sprint planning, execution, review, and retrospective
* Update and maintain site documentation as needed
* Communicate effectively and efficiently with all associates and business contacts and promote a strong sense of teamwork

Basic Qualifications:
* Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
* Requires US citizenship or permanent residence (green card).
* Solid understanding of OOP – Objected Oriented Principles

* Knowledge of an objected oriented language (e.g. C#.NET, Java, etc.)
* Working knowledge of HTML/XML, CSS, or JavaScript
* Working knowledge of relational databases like SQL Server (NoSQL experience is a plus)
* Strong communication skills and a passion for problem solving
* Ability to write unit tests and testable code
* Excellent written and verbal language skills

Preferred Skills:

* Experience in cloud technologies is a plus
