The Boeing Company's Direct Attack Support Equipment team in St. Charles, Missouri has an immediate opening for a Lead Software Engineer. This individual will work in a team environment to develop test and repair capability for a wide variety of avionic and/or weapon systems. Our team develops and maintains a wide range of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and analysis tools for numerous weapons programs, including the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM), Small Diameter Bomb (SDB), Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), B61-12 tailkit, and High Altitude Anti-Submarine Warfare Capability (HAAWC). Our test equipment and software are used to support all phases of platform/weapon development, from demonstration to production to field support and depot repair.
This position involves, but is not limited to: System & software requirements analysis and development System test requirements analysis and development interface design Test software development/coding Hardware/software integration System selloff/verification Support of problem resolution associated with fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle Project lead activities, including customer interaction and Earned Value Management
The selected candidate should possess knowledge of, and experience with, software development and simulation tools (e.g. editors, compilers, linkers, desktop simulators, and configuration and requirement management tools), as well as various software languages (C++, C#, etc.). Although primarily a software assignment, this position does require the ability to interface with various hardware systems and equipment. Thus, familiarity with standard electronic laboratory test equipment and troubleshooting practices is desired, while a background in circuit design and schematic analysis is a plus. This position requires the ability to work within a fast paced team environment. Strong communication skills are essential as frequent contact with Program Management, internal and external customer representatives, and other development teams and disciplines is required.
