Due to growth in the Space sector my client is looking for a Software Engineer to join its multi-disciplined team responsible for the development, testing and delivery of satellite ground control system products used for a variety of Navigation, Science and Earth Observation Missions.
In this software engineering role we require a dynamic and enthusiastic person with SW development experience, who is passionate about being a part of this exciting field of space and ground system technology. Role:
Software Engineer Pay
: Circa £45.00 PH LTD Contract:

The successful applicant will be responsible for developing SW tools and applications to support the satellite ground systems engineering team. These SW applications are key to the management, control and processing of spacecraft data.
The role involves the analysis of user requirements, SW architectural design, SW coding, testing and preparation of the related documentation and Software Operations Manuals. It will also involve providing product support including product integration into SW systems, product enhancement and anomaly investigation and resolution.
The successful applicant will work as part of the ground systems team but also be able to work independently seeking clarification with the relevant experts and management when required.
The role offers the opportunity to grow and gain knowledge in multiple ground system disciplines and also take on further responsibilities in future. This coupled with the opportunity for mobility provides exciting career development opportunities.
The role may involve work on UK government programs and therefore the successful applicant should have the ability to obtain SC level clearance.
While the role is based in Portsmouth some travel for business to various locations around the globe may be required. Skills and Experience:
The successful applicant shall be able to:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a related discipline;
- Experienced in:
- Requirements Analysis;
- Software development and test;
- Software documentation;
- SW product integration into large SW systems;
- SW development methodologies such as Agile or similar;
- Monitoring and control system/data processing system development,
- Programming skills to include:
- Linux and Windows;
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
