Sheet Metal Worker

 JMC Aviation are working with a MRO company based in Manchester, looking to recruit a new Sheet Metal Mechanic to join their team.

This business is a leading MRO dealing with base maintenance as well as interior modifications and fuel systems repair and maintenance for both commercial and military aircraft. The company has been operating for close to 30 years, providing outstanding customer service and encouraging a warm, positive environment to aid employee progression.

This is a Permanent Position based in Manchester, UK.

Working Monday - Friday, with two options of shift: 7.00- 3.30pm or 3.00- 11.30pm.

The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to fabricate, assemble and repair sheet metal products, reporting to and working with the leading mechanic/certifier as allocated.

Other duties involve:

• Removal and installation of major aircraft structural sections, in accordance with approved documentation.
• Working to fine tolerances and high standards as defined by the approved documentation.
• Upholding high standards of safety and housekeeping for yourself and others.
• Adhering to all company procedures.

Skills and experience required.

In order to be successful in this role the Sheet Metal Mechanic will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

• Completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship, production or Live aircraft.
• Extensive aircraft and structures/repairs experience.
• Demonstratable experience in aircraft modification/production/maintenance in a Part 145 MRO environment.
• Experienced and capable of reading and understanding manufacturers drawings and SRMs.     - Knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
