Day to day

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Design and Development Engineer to join Virgin Atlantic’s (VAA) Engineering Department, focusing specifically on the provision of Structures technical & design expertise in support of the VAA Aircraft Fleet.

You will be accountable for specification & implementation of fleetwide structures maintenance & modification policies, investigation of structural defects & formulation of corrective actions to maintain maximum safety, structural integrity & reliability at optimum cost.

About you

To succeed in this position, you will hold an engineering degree/HND in a field relevant to aviation or an CAA B1 Licence (or equivalent), coupled with experience in an airline or manufacturer’s design / development / structure repair department would be highly advantageous.

You’ll be thorough, detailed and analytical and work well on own initiative. Whilst in this role, conveying key business information will be prevalent, and therefore you will have strong verbal and written communication skills. Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to adapt and respond to changing work demands whilst working under pressure. Ability to make clear and unambiguous decisions and the ability to communicate those decisions to all levels in situations of acute pressure is vital to the success of this role.
