Role Overview

Are you ready to maximize your potential as a senior software engineer? Then join our team of engineers designing state-of-the-art, industry-leading technology for the displays in the cockpits of large, commercial aircraft.

The Collins Aerospace Air Transport Displays Programs department is looking for a senior software engineer to join the avionics software displays team. The team focuses on working together to build the highest quality Displays Application software solutions, leveraging the collective experience of the group to be a model of innovation throughout the software lifecycle. Primary Responsibilities:

* Apply domain knowledge and software development processes (requirements, design, development, test, release) with primary emphasis on software design and development using coding best practices.
* Demonstrate an understanding of how to incorporate the appropriate processes and tools into product development, resulting in increased product quality and improved customer satisfaction.
* Design, code, integrate, regression test, test and document software in areas such as: software problem reports, change requests, software components, and software test scripts.
* Perform software debugging using appropriate techniques and tools.
* Contribute to cross-functional team efforts in integration, verification and validation for products and sub-systems.
* Provide engineering estimates for work on upcoming tasks.
* Contribute to software engineering requirements capture, analysis and creation for well-defined software designs.Individual job duties may vary.

Qualifications:

* This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline (STEM degree is highly preferred) and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
* Experience with C and C++ programming languages is required.
* Experience with model-based software development using Matlab/Simulink is required.
* Experience with DO-178B (or DO-178C) software certification for level A or B software is required.
* Experience in displays flight deck software applications, such as PFD (Primary Flight Display) or ND (Navigation Display) is preferred
