Senior Rotable Controller

Embraer 135/145 Fleet

Glasgow, Purchasing Department 

(1 year contract) 

We are looking for an experienced Rotable Controller Specialist to join the Purchasing Team, based in Glasgow for one-year contract.


The Rotable Controller will be responsible for managing all Embraer 135/145 component repair tasks (Schedules & Non Scheduled) and Embraer 135/145 spares inventory, maintaining performance and cost-efficiency.  The role requires a qualified individual capable of maintaining and improving the current purchasing structure by developing the supplier base, implementing supplier contracts, driving cost-down negotiations.


The role reports to the Material Support Manager and has two direct reports (rotable controllers).

Key Responsibilities:

Q  Evaluate, select and implement new sources of supply based on technical and/or buying specifications to meet the maintenance requirements.

Q  Review all the components removed from Embraer 135/145 Loganair aircraft and ensure they are processed by nominated Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) companies.

Q  Control inventory items throughout the repair and overhaul process, liaising heavily with nominated MRO's on areas such as warranties, scope of work, quotations.

Q  Will timely manage all the repairs and quotations (assistance from technical department will be available to support this task) with positive impacts on reliability, safety, quality and financial results.

Q  Drive and deliver a strategy to support with stock levels and inventory control to cover Loganair’s Spare Parts Network.

Q  Negotiate with suppliers (MRO s / Vendors / Repair Agencies) to ensure the best value for money is delivered.

Q  Manage the suppliers time frames and quality of services, ensure that suppliers meet their contractual obligations, and that the contract requirements are successfully delivered.

Q  Generate monthly reports for Head of Purchasing and Logistics/ Director Of Engineering/ Finance Department of the costs incurred by the maintenance of Embraer 135/145 components, create forecasting reports for budgeting purpose.

Q  Drive team performance and ensure all the other team members supporting the Embraer 135/145 fleet are developed and are meeting targets within a timely manner.

Skills and Attributes:

Q    Ability to understand the market (parts availability and resources, delivery terms and prices) and to use it for the Company’s benefit.

Q    Knowledge of purchasing, supply chain and planning, resource allocation, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the stock replenishment and distribution of goods with minimum cost.

Q    Strategic & innovative thinker with ability to drive initiatives.

Q    Evidence of rapid progression or personal achievements in previous procurement role(s).

Q    Ability to quantify the financial impact of procurement with a cost reduction orientation

Q    Proficiency in Microsoft Packages is necessary and prior use of OASES (or similar) would be beneficial.
