Flightworx are expanding our established Flight Operations Department and are seeking experienced controllers to join our growing team. The right candidate will have the drive to succeed and will play an integral part in shaping our operations department in the months and years to come.

The Role

The Senior Operations Controller is responsible for assisting the Operations Supervisor with the smooth, day-to-day running of the operations desks.  Reporting to the Operations Manager, (Deputy Manager where applicable) and Supervisors, the Senior Operations Controller’s primary responsibility is ensuring that all operational tasks are carried out in a timely, effective and safe manner and that the daily flying programme is delivered fully and in accordance with our quality and safety policies and in compliance with the Flightworx Operations Manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Global trip set up, according to the clients’ specific requirements
  • Worldwide flight planning using the PPS flight planning and NATS AFPEX systems, ensuring that all flight plans are filed according to optimum performance of the associated aircraft
  • Flight planning according to the requirements of oceanic crossing requirements, aircraft capabilities and regulatory instructions
  • Disruption management as necessary. Cancelling, delaying flight plans, handling and associated services
  • Seeking improvements to CTOTs wherever possible via the CFMU Helpdesk function
  • Submitting eAPIS, CARICOM and TSA Waiver notifications
  • Liaising with the Planning Dept. to ensure that all overflight/landing permissions are submitted in a correct and timely manner, according to current requirements – following them up as necessary
  • Ensuring that status checks are completed of all trips at -24 and -6 hours prior to dispatch and any outstanding items are followed up
  • Providing a full and comprehensive handover at the start and end of each rostered shift via the Centrik system.
  • Responsibility when on duty for the safe and timely delivery of the daily flying programme. Ensuring that the planning and dispatch activity is prioritised and delivered to the highest standards in compliance with the Ops procedures manual.
  • Responsibility when on duty to ensure that all flights and crew are legal and valid for their schedules.
  • Responsibility for the compliant use of all Flightworx Aviation software, including: LEON scheduling, Centrik SMS, PPS, Jeppview, AFTN, SITA and CFMU systems ensuring the any safety issues are raised promptly through the company SMS and notified to the Flightworx Operations Manager. The Senior Controller must also be aware of Client specific systems such as the FOS system and Jet Planner.
  • Ensuring that all trips are verified when completed and any discrepancies are notified to the Operations Manager.
  • All flights have services updated and billing is actioned at the end of the day and submitted promptly to Accounts.
  • Ensuring that the Flightworx area is kept clean, tidy and in a presentable state at all times.
  • Providing a full and comprehensive handover at the start and end of each shift with outstanding items being details in Centrik.
  • Helping to maintain and develop relationships with all Flightworx employees and clients around the world. Providing a key point of contact to all personnel relating to the Operations team.
  • Responsible for ensuring that communication between all Flightworx departments and Flightworx personnel is effective and timely to maintain the high standards of Flightworx Aviation as a whole.
  • Providing support, coaching and mentoring to Operations colleagues, particularly new joiners to the team.
  • Motivating and encouraging department colleagues in order to provide a positive working environment for the team and company.
  • Assisting in arranging and delivering induction, developmental and recurrent training for new and existing staff.
