Responsibilities

The Senior Business Consultant, Marketing Technologies' primary responsibility is supporting Southwest Airlines' Marketing department by researching and being a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in technology and process implementations. This person serves as an expert in the Marketing department on the systems, data and processes within the department and the technical solutions required to deliver solutions to market and will be the multi-solution SME for our Adobe Marketing Cloud implementation.

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

* Primary contact for new technical solutions within the Marketing department
* SME for the Adobe Marketing Cloud implementations, responsible for maximization of our investments by owning integrations, enhancements and proactively working to improve the quality of our implementations
* Responsible to building and growing technical knowledge on all Marketing solutions and driving recommendations to improve efficiencies
* Represent Marketing in RFP/RFIs for new vendors and will lead the process when it is a Marketing driven solution
* Gathers business requirements, proactively and reactively conducts vendor research and prepares pro/con recommendations of each possible solution
* Responsible for developing educational material for leadership and being a thought leader on all types of tools and solutions in the marketplace
* Primary contact with Supply Chain Management on new vendors or contracts when needed
* Works to create a knowledge base of vendors and solutions proactively by being the primary contact for vendor solicitations within Marketing
* Must be capable of managing implementations within project and annual budgets
* Supports collaboration with other Marketing teams to assess technology needs for enhanced Customer insight and personalization
* Self-directed through ambiguous data exploration with ability to independently employ a wide range of mining and analysis methods
* Gathers data across platforms, creatively exploring alternate methods and ensuring data integrity
* Synthesizes data to address the what, why, and how of business questions and business applications, knowing how to contribute to Marketing strategy
* Must be comfortable presenting complex technical solutions to all levels of the organization
* Tells a compelling and relevant story that conveys well thought-out recommendations, explains complex concepts in a straightforward manner with actionable recommendations, and presents with poise and confidence
* Collaborates well with others, builds relationships with business owners and Technology, influences and takes consultative approaches as appropriate, drives forward and follows through against established timelines
* Is adaptable to evolving business needs and a changing environment
* Solution oriented; positively impacts the environment of his or her direct team and Marketing department
* Works with leader to align on priorities, constructively address project work, and build personal development plans

Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field preferred
* Advanced degree preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE:

* Minimum 12 years' experience in related field required
* OR, minimum 10 years with advanced degree
* Minimum 5 years' experience with Marketing Technologies required
* Experience with spreadsheets, databases, and database reporting tools required
* 2+ years of experience with Adobe Marketing Cloud solution implementations is required
* Intermediate understanding and ability to read and write HTML, CSS, JavaScript and knowledge of browser cookies are all required
* Previous experience building business cases and presenting to senior leadership is required
* Must be able to coach junior analysts

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

* Familiarity with the airline industry and/or field of marketing preferred
* Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills required
* Possesses strong mathematical, analytical, and problem solving skills
* Communicates effectively by listening intently, questioning appropriately, and articulating clearly in both written and verbal formats
* Handles high volumes of work with ability to prioritize effectively and hit promised timelines
* Delivers quality work within a low-cost environment
* Is a curious learner

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
