The RM/OR group drives improvements in revenue management systems by analyzing forecast and revenue data and implementing creative solutions to improve profitability.
Quantitative techniques utilized may include forecasting, mathematical programming and other optimization techniques, simulation, stochastic modeling, data mining, decision analysis, artificial intelligence and machine learning. A significant component of many assignments will be the implementation of prototype solutions using programming languages such as Python and Java, and statistical tools like SAS.
As part of the internship, individuals will develop a solid understanding of core airline economics, forecasting and optimization systems.
- Candidate should be in the process of obtaining a degree (BS, MS or PhD) in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Applied Mathematics or a related field.
- Successful candidates will have a demonstrated aptitude for logical analysis, problem identification, and problem solving as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to use computer-based tools and programming languages to implement solutions is required.
- Willingness to show initiative and take ownership of job responsibilities.
