Quality Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen here at JMC Aviation for a quality manager, this role has arisen  due to continued growth. This is a Permanent Position based in our Exeter office.  This is for 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday.

The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to to ensure that all aspects of the organisation’s activities comply with the requirements of the relevant controlling legislation. To ensure that an effective Quality Management System is maintained throughout JMC to ensure that there is an effective system in place for the control and management of safety.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring to ensure safety is considered during the execution of all JMC activities.
  • Maintaining, managing and reporting safety related data
  • Management and monitoring of the JMC Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with standards EN9100 -2018 and ISO 9001- 2015
  • Acting as interface between JMC and the accreditation agencies and ensure full cooperation
  • with agency audits
  • The planning and completion of internal audits to ensure compliance with company procedures and accreditation standards within all JMC departments, JMC facilities and off
  • site locations
  • Management and monitoring of resulting audit findings to ensure effective identification of
  • root cause, corrective action and preventive action and effective resolution of findings
  • Management and monitoring of customer complaints and incidents/events to identify root
  • cause, corrective action and preventive action and ensure effective resolution of issues.
  • Management and administration of the Qpulse QMS software
  • Monitoring of EASA and UK CAA regulations to identify changes that may affect JMC operations
  • Cooperating with customers, national aviation authorities, and JMC departments, as
  • necessary, in the investigation and reporting of airworthiness related incidents and events
  • involving or resulting from JMC activities
  • Where possible providing technical advice and information to assist with investigations, or
  • day to day JMC activities as required
  • Cooperating and assisting JMC staff and departments in their activities, resolving compliance
  • issues, identifying where improvement may be possible and providing guidance on all safety
  • and compliance related matters
  • To manage documented company procedures, work instructions, forms and other required
  • documentation to ensure regular review and revision control is maintained
  • Ensure effective control over the status, ie Draft/Active/Obsolete of company documentation and procedures
  • Ensure all company documentation and procedures are distributed and made available to JMC staff whilst ensuring document control is maintained
  • Planning and leading of periodic Management Review Meeting to provide review of QMS
  • performance to JMC management Team
  • Maintaining and reporting of QMS Performance KPI’s
  • The effective interface between the quality group and all company departments.

Skills and experience required.

 Essential: 

  • Suitable experience from an Aviation or Engineering background
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Being able to work to tight deadlines  
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to organise and prioritise own work
  • Attention to detail is essential

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a busy office environment
  • Experience working with an AS, EN or ISO Quality Management System
  • Experience working with a Part- 145 Quality Management System
