Oaklands Global is currently recruiting a Quality Manager on behalf of our reputable Aerospace client based in the UK. This is a permanent position.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

·        The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a quality system ensuring compliance with CAA and EASA regulations, ISO 9001, and other requirements relevant to the company.

·        Responsible for implementing a quality audit programme in which compliance with all the procedures is reviewed at regular intervals, in relation to each type of component maintained.

·        Managing aircraft component maintenance programmes where a customer/operator has delegated their repair/ overhaul to the organisation.

·        Assessing sub-contractors for extension of the quality system and maintaining the expertise necessary to be able to satisfy CAA and other approval authorities.

·        Assessing external specialist services required to be used by the company in the performance of maintenance.

·        Assessing suppliers of new and used components, and materials, for satisfactory product quality in relation to the needs of the organisation.

·        Preparing standard practices and procedures for use within the organisation, derived from approved sources, and keeping them up to date.

·        Working in conjunction with the Accountable Manager, to ensure sufficient competent personnel to plan, perform, supervise, inspect, and certify the work being performed.

·        Ensuring that maintenance procedures are established and published within the organisation, to achieve good maintenance practices and compliance with CAA requirements and for establishing a quality system for the organisation to ensure that work is accomplished to the highest standards of airworthiness and workmanship.

·        Ensuring that all maintenance is correctly certified and that records of maintenance carried out are retained safely and securely for the statutory period.

·        Communicating with the EASA/CAA and other approval authorities/Certification Bodies on approval matters

·        Deputising for the General Manager in his absence on policy negotiations, administration of the exposition, issues of revision and to procure services from approved sources.

·        Ensuring the competence of all personnel engaged in maintenance by establishing a programme of training and continuation training.

 

Key Skills & Experience:

·        Technically astute and product focused, with experience in a Part 145 Aerospace environment

·        Experience of implementing and manging robust quality procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.

·        IT literate with good planning and organisational skills. Knowledge of TracWare/AeroTrac would be advantageous.

·        A self-motivated individual who possesses good communication skills, able to ask probing and difficult questions.

·        Clear understanding of operational requirements and the cultural issues and needs of both the business and regulatory authorities.
