Quality Engineer

Bournemouth Airport, Permanent

Full time, Monday to Friday 8:30 – 17:00

Summary of Role

Based at Bournemouth International Airport and reporting directly to the Quality and Safety Manager, working within the Safety & Quality Department the Quality Engineer will assist in the management of the Safety, Quality System, whilst also focusing on continuous improvements within the Company. As a Quality Engineer you will assist in driving strategic and tactical Quality and safety initiatives throughout the Company as well as playing a role in the development and implementation of the wider strategy to meet Company objectives

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Safety & Quality Manager to coordinate all aspects of Safety, Quality Assurance and compliance, including the maintenance of all regulatory approvals.
  • Assist the Safety & Quality Manager to ensure that higher and lower level procedures are approved, maintained, understood and executed by employees with special emphasis on the product and processes in accordance with regulatory requirements EASA (EASA Part M, Part 145), FAA (FAR 145) and customer or any other regulatory requirement necessary.
  • Assist with the Safety Management System
  • Accountable for implementing and proper execution of the internal and external audit program to measure the overall effectiveness of the Safety, Quality and Compliance Management Systems as detailed by the Safety & Quality Manager.
  • Assist the Safety & Quality Manager in the management and reporting of the non-compliance system including internal/external escapes
  • Assist in driving MEDA investigations to prevent defects and process non-compliance.
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers and internal departments resolving Quality and Safety related issues, preventing re-occurrence
  • Promote and support HSE program and philosophy as part of the Department team.
  • Drive continuous improvement on internal and external Safety, Quality and Compliance.
  • Coach and mentor team members at all levels, aligning and linking them with Company performance and priorities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Preferably- You must have experience of Safety & Quality Compliance Systems.
  • You must have a good knowledge of EASA Part 145, Part M and FAA FAR 145 and other Registries such as IoMAR, 2-REG & JAR.
  • You will have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • You will have a track record of implementing continuous improvement in an MRO capacity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • An aerospace background with experience within an Aircraft or Component MRO
  • Knowledge or an interest in the Business Aviation sector is beneficial
  • Willing to travel to other Technicair sites
  • Be familiar with the Total AOC Centrik platform
