Qualified Helicopter Instructor (Ground)

About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Qualified Helicopter Instructor (Ground) role.

You will be working within the Merlin Training Facility at RNAS Yeovilton in direct support of the AESAS contract. You will have specific responsibilities associated with the instruction of students and will be expected to maintain the high standards associated with operations in the aviation environment.

  • Delivery and validation of the CHF SIM syllabi including Aircraft and Operational Conversion to Ab Initio, Aircrew refresher and initial training courses.
  • Analysis of student sorties and submission of written reports within timescale directed by Sim OiC.
  • Responsible for the development of training material in this area in conjunction with a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Lead Instructor.
  • Function as Duty Instructor.
  • Compliance with and completion of routine documentation.
  • Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times
  • Attend Instructor and standardisation meetings.
  • Each instructor will be required to deliver 904 simulator hours per annum.

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need to be a Former Military Merlin Pilot, Instructor category of B1 Grade, have a minimum of 500 hours Merlin HM Mk3 flying hours achieved, conversion to Merlin Mk4, have a minimum of 400 instructional hours (simulated or airborne across aircraft types), Instructor category of A2/A1 Grade, achieved the Defence Instructional Techniques (DIT) Qualification and hold the 'Defence Train The Trainer' Qualification.

What else do I need to know?

* The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
