Qualified Flying Instructor
About the role
Here at Babcock we're looking to recruit a highly experienced Light Fixed Wing Flying Instructor for our contract at RNAS Yeovilton.
On a full time basis, you will be responsible for providing flying training to the Royal Navy utilising Company owned Grob 115E training aircraft and reporting to the Operations Manager/Chief Pilot on site.
You will provide the highest quality flying and ground instruction to a diverse range of courses including Air Experience, Refresher, Conversion and Pilot Grading and contribute to short (normally 4 working days) recruiting-focused flying detachments up to 5 times a year to other sites in the UK.
You will also conduct challenging secondary duties in support of the flying task and as an optional flexibility clause in the contract, support flying training tasks at other LAFT2 sites namely Army Aviation Centre Middle Wallop during off-peak periods or when released, with commensurate benefits while ensuring Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.
What do I need to do the role?
You'll need considerable flying instructional experience, preferably military (DTTT trained ideally) with Flying Supervisor and Authorizer experience.
You must also hold a current or previously held Military A2 category instructor qualification on a relevant type and UK or JAA CPL(A) including current Class 1 medical and relevant IMC rating or Instrument Rating.
Adaptable and articulate,
Comfortable working in a military squadron environment.
Excellent communication skills
Able to relate to all ages and experience levels of student.
