Avion Group is a Dutch company that designs, manufactures and operates highly innovative Full Flight Simulators for the Airbus A320 family aircraft. The company was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Nieuw-Vennep, close to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Currently, a training centre in Malta is operated and a second training centre will be opened in London in February 2020.

Avion Simulators – Technical Operation is responsible for the design, assembly, installation and services of the Avion simulators. Our goal is to heave the best simulator of the world, with a high-end look and feel and the lowest costs of ownership. Since we finalized the prototyping phase of our A320 simulator, production and sales is ramping up. To keep the production and delivery at the high standard where Avion stands for, we like to expand our team with a team player that takes care of the right balance between money; time and quality.

 

Project Manager

Location: Nieuw-Vennep, The Netherlands

 

About the job

The project manager is responsible for all phases of the project after the signing of a commercial contract (startup to closure) managing the customer, suppliers, Avion project team and all relevant stakeholders. The project manager takes care of the performance of the project team, from the realization of the deliverables, to the personal interests of the project members. The Project Manager reports to the Director Technical Operations

Responsibilities

Supervision

·        Supervises and directs project personnel, third party suppliers and processes, to keep (production / construction) projects running smoothly and within budget without compromising safety and quality standards, as well as meeting customer, statutory/regulatory, and organizational requirements.

 

Organizing

·        Coordinates with the Engineering team and third-party supplier for the development of manufacturing methods processes, tooling, and molds necessary to produce new products.  Reviews and implements engineering change notices as appropriate; updates manufacturing documentation including assembly manuals. Meets with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.

 

Third party management

·        Tracks third party performance, specifically to analyze the progression and completion of production. Manages the relationship with the third-party supplier and all stakeholders.

Planning

·        Develops a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress. Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques. Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.

Required Skills and experience

·        Good analytical skills

·        Bachelor Degree in Engineering of (Technical) BA

·        Demonstrated experience in a Project Management position and/or management of third-party production of complex systems/machinery

·        Excellent interpersonal sensitivity

·        Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

·        Strong work ethic: comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company environment.

Desirable Skills and Experience

·        Certification in IPMA or Prince II

·        Ability to mentor colleagues and lead by example
