Description:This position in the F-35 Engineering Project Office (EPO) will fill an integration role between the Sustainment Mod/Retrofit Program Management Team and Engineering.
This role will manage integration, tracking, and recovery planning for the technical execution of groups of contracted aircraft mods/retrofits being worked by Project Engineers in the EPO organization. This role is high visibility and has impacts on major customer milestones, such as Initial Operational Capability (IOC) and Initial Operational Test & Evaluation (IOT&E) and other events critical to F-35 customers. As a result, familiarity with one or more of the following areas is desired: the CR process, the proposal process, fleet mods, and subcontract management, and airframe engineering.
The candidate will partner with F-35 Sustainment Program Management, the Engineering Mod Lead Integration Lead, and the Project Engineers working the Mods in their area of focus to determine the work group dynamic. The candidate must therefore be able to identify and implement solutions autonomously and with little direction. The candidate should also be capable of expressing those solutions to both Engineering functional leadership and cross-organizationally with their program office and functional counterparts.
Lastly, candidate should be comfortable mentoring newer Project Engineers and responding to questions from F-35 leaders on mods in their area of focus.
Engineering or Technical Bachelor's degree required
Experience in program and / or project management.
Production, Sustainment, or Design, or Systems Engineering Experience
• Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, Project Engineering or Program Management, Project Management, PP&S, Configuration Management, Earned Value Management Experience
• Good communication skills preferred, as position requires interfacing with internal and external customers to report technical, and scheduling status.
• Experience working in teams and interfacing with external customers, and experience in project management skill sets desired.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with MS Project or other scheduling tools
