General responsibilities of the position: ** Please note that this posting is to create a pool of candidates **
Work from instructions, service requests and established processes to perform preventive, predictive or corrective maintenance, as well as all forms of repair work on plumbing systems and equipment. Set up and assemble equipment as per operational requirements. Perform diagnosis to identify the source of the problem; disassemble equipment all the way up to the defective parts; maintain equipment integrity. Research repetitive cause of failures or breakdowns and recommend proper corrective methods.
Determine location and arrangement of material. Evaluate scope of tasks and material required in order to perform repairs or replacements, and plan work in collaboration with other trades. Install, replace, repair, adjust and align parts of equipment such as pumps, FRL, compressed air and process piping. Use appropriate tools and equipment to verify parameters, adjustment and calibration in order to ensure proper operation. Test equipment and ensure it performs as per specifications and operational requirements.
Identify, research and prepare the order or shipment of spare parts, ready-to-assemble kits and repairable components required for the task completion. Receive and move material, parts and other equipment towards designated areas. Drive various mobile equipment and motor vehicles such as forklifts and scissor lifts. Keep own working perimeter safe. Must maintain required governmental accreditations up-to-date.
Complete all required documentation; input and research data in the various information systems; and keep appropriate records of various parameters used to establish efficient operations, while maintaining statistical process control.
May be called to perform several projects simultaneously.
Specific responsibilities of position: Qualifications required: • Holder of a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in plumbing and heating
• Certificate of vocational qualifications in plumbing from Emploi Quebec or CCQ
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in the industry
• Excellent understanding of lockout/tagout rules
• Functional spoken and written English and French
• Strong problem solving capacities and analytical skills
• Strong abilities in reading drawings and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
• Interpersonal skills: teamwork and positive attitude
• Familiar with computer systems, Windows operating system and MS Office suite
• Proficiency in SAP-PM is an asset
