Duties and Responsibilities

Information gathering

* Gathers information necessary to bill the appropriate payer or make determination that account is self-pay.

* Examining the patient record and for using telephone to gather information.

Billing

* Bills the appropriate payer

* Uses proper forms for billing

* Monthly monitors the patients payments

Management of accounts

* Following billing process, follows accounts, makes necessary contacts with insurance payers or patients to assure maximum reimbursement.

* Files reviews as necessary to assure maximum reimbursement

* Set up and follow payments on self- pay cases.

Qualifications

Education High school Diploma or equivalent

TrainingN/A

Experience Previous experience in medical billing would be helpful.
