The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an entry level Systems Engineer to join our Launch and Missions Operations team. This position is based in Seal Beach, CA.

The System Engineer provides engineering support and project management for the implementation and enhancement of programmatic processes and tools.

Responsibilities:

*

Documenting current ground configuration at subsystems and serialized part levels

* Maintaining current ground configuration via rigorous tracking of installations and removals

* Tracking history and usage of age and life limited components

* Identification and disposition of age and life issues

* Identification and mitigation of subsystem and parts level obsolescence issues

* Developing and prioritizing sparing plans

* Coordinating status with Responsible Engineers for subsystems, units and support equipment

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or closely related discipline.

• 2 or more years of work experience (or equivalent as part of educational course work) in creating complex spreadsheets (e.g. utilizing advanced Excel functionality) and creating data base program applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience leading assessment and collaborative resolution of complex cross-functional technical issues
• Experience and/or education tracking, organizing and manipulating complex sets of technical data
• Experience and/or education facilitating meetings involving multiple internal and external organizations.
• Experience and/or education driving results through the development, implementation and maintenance of rigorous processes, tools, schedules and metrics.
• Experience and/or education with spacecraft subsystems and components

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

This position is located in the Seal Beach, CA area and does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must reside in area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
