Job Purpose
Effectively Manage the company flying programme in order to meet regularity and punctuality targets
Key Responsibilities
Manage the company flying programme in order to meet regularity and punctuality requirements.
  • Monitor the flight programme, manipulating planned aircraft flying to minimise delays. 
  • Co-ordination and communication/notification with Maintenance Control in order to understand and manage technical problems effectively. 
  • Continual efficient communication with outstations and crews to ensure changes are actioned quickly. 
Manage the flight planning process including creating flight plans, reroutes and ATC slot Management.
  • With a thorough understanding of the Jepps system, Plan the most cost effective routings incorporating weather and airways restrictions. 
  • Reroute flights to avoid airway restrictions in order to minimise delays. 
  • Liaise between ATC and Crews to co-ordinate the management of ATC slot restrictions, ensuring minimal disruption to the program.
Line management of designated iOCC Officers.
  • Whilst on duty manage the assigned iOCC Officers.
  • Manage, motivate and develop the iOCC Officers.
  • Oversee the provision and implementation of team and/or iOCC Officers induction and training. 
Problem solving with commercial insight especially during times of operational disruption. 
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of commercially important routes.
  • Familiarisation with the planned flying program to provide the most effective solutions.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in an Operations environment
  • Proven experience in a fast paced customer service role both face to face and/or over the telephone
  • 5 GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English
  • IT literate and proficient in the use of MS office suite; e.g Outlook, Word, Excel
Desirable Skills 
  • Proven experience in an aviation Operations Controller or Operations role. 
  • Understanding of Crew Flight Time Limitations and Company Scheduling Agreements
