In the Operability Group, the analysts will be able to familiarize themselves with various aspects of engine operability such as starting, acceleration and deceleration (handling), transient simulation, aircraft interfaces, electronic and hydromechanics control systems.
Within a dynamic team, analysts will have to participate to following tasks:
-Contribute to engine sub-system definition like the controls system.
-Generate transient simulation corresponding to aircraft maneuvers.
-Establish test procedures to be performed on engine or component as well as supporting the tests being carried on test benches or aircrafts. Test data analysis.
-Assessment of requirement compliance via testing and/or analysis (engine and component levels); compare to the simulation results and provide recommendations as applicable.
-Support engine certification process and create relevant documentation.
-OEM (aircraft manufacturers) and field support.
Office environment and test cell (occasional).
Qualifications required: Specific expectations:
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Aerodynamics, Aerospace, Avionics or Mechanical)
-Gas turbine knowledge, system design, and good understanding of aerodynamic and thermodynamic principles are considered an advantage for this position.
-Proficiency at handling several analytical tasks concurrently and working with quickly evolving requirements and priorities.
-Demonstrated ability to operate well in and at times lead teams.
-Experience in operability, compressor aerodynamics, performance, controls or development/test an asset.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is essential, programming skills and knowledge of Matlab/Simulink an asset.
-Bilingual (English, French).
-May be required to travel or work night and week-end shifts based on business needs.
