Job Description

CACI is looking for a new electrical engineering graduate or early career Space Vehicle Electrical Systems Engineer to work on crewed and cargo carrying Visiting Vehicles (VVs) to the International Space Station which include: Boeing CST-100, Space-X Dragon, Sierra Nevada Corporation Dream Chaser, Orion, and Commercial Orbital Transportation Systems (COTS) logistics space vehicles. This electrical systems engineering position involves analysis, design development, testing and integration of the VV’s electrical pyrotechnic safety system. This work will include requirements development and assessment, design analysis, technical oversight, and collaboration with the VV’s prime contractors.

More About the Role:

* Support the Commercial Crew and Cargo Visiting Vehicle (VV) design, test and verification analysis.
* Provide technical oversight of VV design, implementation, and test and verification of electrical pyrotechnic safety design.
* Provide technical assessment of electrical pyrotechnic safety concerns and issues, and provide potential solutions and recommendations to resolve any design or test related issues.
* Support development and review of VV’s electrical pyrotechnic safety requirement specifications.
* Support VV Test and Verification (T&V) activities including the review of as-built inspection reports pertaining to electrical pyrotechnic safety.
* Support the review of Verification Closure Notices (VCNs) for all VVs and COTS vehicles.
* Support the VV Office during various Pyrotechnic Safety meetings and activities.
* Support ISS Payload Safety reviews with coverage of pyrotechnic electrical circuit analysis and review.
* Interface with NASA and contractor engineering teams.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

* Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for access to USG facilities.
* B.S. in Electrical Engineering required. Standard circuits background with power focus a plus.
* 0 to five years of related NASA experience in electrical systems involving safety design, electromagnetics, and pyrotechnics for cargo and human-rated space vehicles, e.g., Boeing CST-100, Space-X Dragon, Sierra Nevada Dream Chaser, and Orion.
* Strong technical and analytical skills.
* Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision.
* Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic.
* Must have highly developed coordination and organization skills.
