Job Description:

Works under general supervision, and no instructions are needed for routine work. Receives general instructions for special assignments. Work is reviewed for sound technical judgment and overall adequacy. Assists in the identification, analysis and documentation of requirements for network transport technologies and services. Creates, implements, maintains and documents basic network designs that conform to architectural and security standards. Supports component research. Collects data to provide project cost estimates. Assists with implementation planning for tactical multi-technology insertion projects.



Bachelor's degree and typically 4 or more years related work experience or a Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Accreditations and/or Certifications: Preferred Cisco and/or other industry standard certifications


2+ Years of experience with Palo Alto.

3 or more years of experience in the field of Networking.

Commutations & Network Systems Test: Makes use of and applies knowledge of communications and network test (e.g., sub-system, system, installation, performance, operational, built-in test, qualification, acceptance). Knowledge of test methodologies for voice and data networks and communications equipment.

? Data Configuration Mgmt: General knowledge of configuration management principles and processes to maintain the integrity of data (e.g., revision level, naming conventions, product identification numbering systems) and numerically controlled media.

? Data Mining: General ability to use a variety of techniques and tools to analyze the data stored in databases, data warehouses and/or data marts. Presents interpretable results in a format understood by the business.

? General ability to connect the networking, processing, and data management that provides the most effective computing infrastructure.

? Government Security Reg: General knowledge of government security regulations (e.g., National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual [NISPOM], International Traffic in Arms Regulations [ITAR], Export Administration Regulations [EAR]) as appropriate to the assignment.

? Information Protection: General knowledge of the security of architecture, electronic data communications, network/data, electronic commerce, electronic commerce, and other related areas to provide computing security and integration services to company computer users and customers. Interfaces with the appropriate government agencies, customers, suppliers, and company personnel in order to facilitate implementation of protective mechanisms and to ensure understanding of and compliance with computing security requirements.

? Maintenance Programs: General knowledge and understanding of the principles of preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

? Network Systems: General knowledge of network communication concepts, principles and architectures, associated with network planning, design, integration and maintenance. End-to-end knowledge of network transport technologies, systems, environments, services, protocols, performance monitoring and diagnostic analysis.

? Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.

Assists in the identification, analysis and documentation of requirements for both classified and unclassified network transport technologies and services (e.g., voice, video, data, wireless, cable, wire) based on customer goals, objectives, cost and security constraints, to provide input into the design process.

Creates and documents designs that conform to architectural and security standards, to meet customer requirements, using design templates and standard implementation packages.

Prepares and deploys routine implementation packages per Boeing standards. Coordinates the installation with impacted customers and provides feedback to the design process based on implementation experience.

Assists with preventative, proactive and reactive maintenance to meet service restoration and network availability objectives, using network analysis and monitoring tools.

Supports component research under instruction from more experienced personnel to provide input for more comprehensive evaluation.

Assists with implementation planning for tactical multi-technology insertion projects, using established project management methodologies for the purpose of controlling costs and ensuring adherence to project plan.
