Boeing Defense, Space and Security is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to focus on systems engineering for integration of vehicle systems, test data reviews, coordination of design changes and change tracking, and systems operations support including CONOPS, autonomy and fault management, and operating procedure development. This position is located in Seal Beach, CA.
The X-37B is the world’s first fully autonomous reusable space plane being used for the testing of new technologies. The Experimental Systems Group (ESG) has an opportunity for a mid-level engineer to support state-of-the-art tasks for its programs including the X-37.
Performs flight system integration for the Experimental Systems Group including support to the X-37 program. Supports experiment integration and development including system trades, requirements development, and test data reviews.
Support development of major review packages including briefings to senior leadership.
Gathers, defines and documents system level requirements to support flight control and mission or trajectory requirements definition. Resolves requirement conflicts. Performs and documents analysis and design of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems to validate or assess the system design or models.
Develops solutions and disposition of issues to assure customer satisfaction.
Designs trade studies to meet program requirements. Works under general direction.

Bachelor's and 5 or more years'
experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with
experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited
course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or
chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 3 years of experience in System engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience with Flight platform systems integration and
satellite, launch vehicle, entry or highly autonomous unmanned.
