My client is an innovative and entrepreneurial team of experts, involved in the development of clean, green, quiet and affordable electric propulsion aircraft, and future electric VTOL solutions.
As part of their ongoing success and growth, they are now seeking a Mechanical / Thermodynamic Engineer to join their team in Switzerland.
You will be responsible for the development of mechanical structures for all electric propulsion systems (EPS) including hybrid systems (either combustion engines or fuel cells). You will also be involved in thermodynamic projects.
Main Mechanical / Thermodynamic Engineer responsibilities:
* Develop mechanical structures and concepts related to EPS such as motor and battery integration into aircraft
* Analyse, design and test mechanical solutions relating to heat management
* Perform stress and load analysis to substantiate the mechanical design for certification and flight readiness.
* Requirements management including the definition of certification requirements.
* Support production with technical advice, problem solving, and integration of components
* Maintain detailed and meticulous documentation throughout the entire process
* Support the quality and certification related processes
Ideal candidate profile:
* Minimum 5 years of professional experience in mechanical development
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering with knowledge of Thermodynamic Engineering
* Work experience in design and prototyping
* Proficiency with CFD analysis and computer design programs and software
* Gear and rotating part design experience
* Proven ability to follow through and bring projects to completion
* Solution-oriented, with analytic problem-solving capabilities
* Well organised including the ability to properly document
* Capacity to prioritise, manage time effectively and multi-task
* Fluency in English, French an asset
