MPI have a requirement for a Mechanical Technician (Chinook) to be based at our clients Gosport Site.

37 hours per week

Paying: £22.24 Limited Company or £17.45 Paye.

Applicants must have previous recent Chinook or Helicopter experience.

Position Description

We are seeking experience contractors as Mechanical Technician to support our Chinook program - contract expected to be until December 2019 and will need to be able to start as soon as possible.  Candidates  will be required to have 5-7 years’ experience. . 

Position requirements

You will effectively carry out a variety of maintenance activities, within trade boundaries and authorisations, iaw current procedures as laid down in relevant approved source information.

Reports directly to the Front Line Manager.

Contribute to team delivery of agreed targets and goals.

Comply with current Tool Control procedure.

Attend and contribute to team meetings.

Carry out Improving Quality and Continuous Quality Improvement reviews.

Support a climate of continuous improvement to assist productivity, quality and lean methodology.

To achieve a maximum flexibility, team members will undertake training and train other team members.

Undertake work to highest level of competence.

Agree to do other duties within the team to support team output.

Work within and promote the Behavioural Competencies.

Ensure all procedures relating to foreign object debris control are adhered to.

Essential requirements;

Team worker that has the ability to fully interact with other team members.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to provide advice as a subject matter expert.

Full compliance and understanding of Quality Management System.

Actively participate in continuous improvement activities. 

Recognised indentured apprenticeship or military equivalent.

Desirable;

Suitable engineering qualification, preferably in an aviation area.

Human Factors Certificate. 

Previous experience of independent inspections.

Familiar with Military MRP 145 and associated Regulatory Articles (RA’s).

Previous experience within a maintenance hangar would be an advantage

 

If selected for this role, you will need to apply for a basic DBS certificate which does cost £25.00 (none reimbursable) and also complete Baseline Security Clearance forms and hold current Human Factors.
