Mechanical Inspector (Formula 1)

Role:

Our client, a renowned Formula 1 manufacturer, are currently recruiting Mechanical Inspectors to work days, late shift (1pm – 11pm) or night shift (6pm – 4am) Duties of which are as follow:

Duties:

• Write advanced PC-Dmis programs (online & offline)
• Create clear and detailed PC-Dmis reports
• Inspection of all components manufactured in house using CMM, Faro Arm and hand-held equipment
• Build probes and create calibration programs
• Analyse and solve issues with programs
• Write advanced Polyworks progames for 7 Axis scanning arms
• Create clear and detailed Polyworks reports
• Controlling First offs and final Inspection
• Managing NCR’s & Liaising with customers
• Ensuring components meet drawing requirements
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T
• User of laser part marking equipment
• Operate/run pre-written CMM programs
• Analyse detailed reports
• Ensure calibrations procedure are adhered to
• Competent using 6 & 7 Axis scanning arms
• Experience of vision systems
• Interpret engineering drawings
• Clear understanding of GD&T
• User of laser part marking equipment
• Confident and capable using a wide range of metrology bench equipment such as:
  • Romer Arm Laser Scanner
  • Micrometers
  • vernier callipers
  • Contour trace
  • bore mic & thread mic
  • height gauges
  • slips/pins
  • DTI clocks
  • shadow graphs
  • thread gauges & spline gauges

Experience / Qualifications:

• Strong manual inspection background
• PC Literate with good working knowledge of MS Office Products
• Previous PC-DMIS experience
• Any candidates with prior Automotive / F1 background of particular interest
• Polyworks experience
• Previous First offs and final Inspection experience
• Comfortable working either night shift (6pm – 4am) or lates (2pm – 11pm)
