The Engineering Intern will work initially in the Engines and MEMS design team developing highly reliable products which meet customer specified requirements/expectations at the lowest competitive cost. The engineering intern will be a highly motivated self-starter who will be capable of supporting/leading projects including product development, testing, report generation, and schedule management. Primary Responsibilities: • Support bids and proposals for new engine and air data sensors • Support manufacture and fabrication for new engine sensors • Participate in trade studies and material selections • Support design of sensors utilizing PTC Creo CAD system and TeamCenter Product Lifecycle Management Software • Work with the Global Engineering Center in India on technical design tasks • Support reviewing requirements and evaluate new product design and functionality in support of meeting customer requirements and successful certification efforts • Perform tolerance analyses on components and assemblies to ensure proper fit/function • Facilitates necessary customer requirement testing to ensure product safety • Support interactions with Business Development and Program Management to ensure customer satisfaction • Interface with all other functional groups and departments as required in the development of the product design • Assists Engineering Management to coordinate the timely delivery of product design and customer proposal requests • Support preparation of preliminary and final detail design and documentation of systems, components, and assemblies • May occasionally design test fixtures and tooling • Adheres to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct • Performs other duties as required

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering • Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA or above

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering • Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA or above

• Must have completed 30 hours of college coursework

* Requires US citizenship or permanent residence (green card).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Analytical skills including knowledge of physics, dynamics, and statics

• Basic experience presenting design solutions • PTC Creo experience (or other high end CAD software package)

• Design experience with material selection, machining, and material joining • Experience with FEA or Strength hand calculations

• Previous experience working in an Integrated Development Team Environment

• Individual must be very detail oriented and thorough in daily work activities due to the criticality of the ejection performance

• Customer skills and customer focus (both internal and external customers)

• Good analytical skills • Ability to work as part of an integrated product team

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize both daily issues

• Good written and verbal skills

• Excellent computer skills, including skill in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software
