Description:This hardware engineer will work as part of an engineering team to perform environmental qualification of electronics cabinets for naval applications. This position requires experience with all facets of environmental qualification testing, including writing of procedures and reports, coordinating the design of test equipment and test cables, fixture design, facilitating the procurement of supporting equipment, leading internal and external test facility personnel, and working with our customer to gain their approval of test approaches and results. When environments are to be qualified by analysis rather than test, hand calculations and/or finite element analysis may be required.
PRO-Engineer (CREO) or equivalent.
Application of finite element analysis to a real-world situation
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving skills.
Familiarity with MS Office Suite.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance.
Electronics packaging experience
Environmental qualification test experience
Knowledge of materials and corrosion control.
Experience with additive manufacturing
Experience with ANSYS APDL/Mechanical (Classic)
Experience with design optimization tools (generative design, topology optimization)
Knowledge of EMI and Power Quality testing
