Position Description:

This role is within the Instrumentation and Specialty Control's Brookfield Engineering Business unit.
Viscometers, rheometers, texture analyzers and powder flow testers used in R&D, QC and inline applications for rheological fluid analysis, tension/compression analysis and powder flow analysis. Markets include food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, personal care products, adhesives, printing inks and coatings, paper coatings, chemicals, packaging, plastics, construction materials, and asphalt.

We are looking to hire an experienced Manufacturing Production Supervisor to ensure that quality, safety, productivity and cost improvement efforts are met by establishing shift goals and maintaining team focus, capitalize on employee skills, abilities and differences to implement a continuous improvement environment.

Ensure manufacturing job orders are completed on time working with production planning and purchasing

Responsible for implementing objectives, including staffing and product flow to optimize efficiency and minimize cost

Coordinate, coach, and facilitate team members in meeting quality, output, scrap, and cost standards and goals of the shift and plant

Select employees & maintain safety, health, attendance, quality, and output standards

Monitor and evaluate team and individual performance

Coordinate communication between shifts and teams regarding requirements, new product or process requirements/implementation and equipment maintenance

Responsible for monitoring the status of orders; processing these according to demand dates and troubleshooting and fixing problems to ensure on time delivery of product

Ensure obstacles are eliminated to empower employees to pursue improvement proposals

Establish, monitor, and model team norms, quality communications, and conflict resolutions

Ensure effective training and integration of new employees; recognize and reward accomplishments

Support Production Planning & Purchasing identifying priorities / potential shortages on raw material and components.

Prioritization on Equipment balancing Production / R&D Requirements.

Ensure parts are manufactured to stated requirements

Minimize machine downtime

Develop knowledge and skills of the Manufacturing Team through cross training on equipment and processes.

Maintain proper quantities of tooling / tools

Reduce material costs

Work with manufacturing engineering to create new tooling and fixtures to facilitate ease of manufacturing.

Position Requirements:

BA/BS and two years of experience in leadership role, or Associate degree and four years of experience in a leadership role preferred.

Internal candidates can be considered if they have at least six years of experience in a leadership position

Understanding of CNC machine scheduling required

Ability to define manufacturing routings for new items preferred

Experience with MRP systems and the use of workbench scheduling of opening and closing job orders, material moves, scrapping preferred

Participation in Lean Manufacturing Initiatives preferred.

Ability to lift 50lbs and work on feet all day while managing team members and shifting priorities in response to assembly supervisor needs to meet customer demand.

Must have demonstrated ability to lead teams and/or groups of individuals and work effectively with others
Must have demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time.

Must have a history of involvement in training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.

Microsoft Office experience is required.
