Triumph Electronics & Control employs approximately 500 personnel. Based in West Hartford, CT, the Company’s key products and services include specializing in the design, development, certification, manufacture and repair of fuel pumps, fuel metering units, fuel controls and electronic engine control systems for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft servicing military, commercial, regional and business jet market segments.

We are currently seeking a Test Engineering Manager who will lead and oversee a team of Test Engineers responsible for the development, improvement and maintenance of equipment used to test the functionality of environmental control systems for the aerospace industry.

This position requires the ability to stay involved in the day to day details involving Thermal Test Equipment for both production OEM, MRO, and Engineering sales sides of the business. The selected individual must be able to make decisions on the fly by determining what the priorities are to meet the overall needs of the business. In addition, the selected individual must be able to actively report to upper level management to communicate status. This is a position comes with a considerable amount of 1-on-1, and team interaction, so the ability to interface with associates at all levels of the organization is a must.

Responsibilities

Provide a broad range of hardware/software/systems design, development, testing, repair, up-grade, and maintenance services in support of manufacturing and engineering test equipment.
Project Management responsibility for managing Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) development projects from conception through implementation.
Design creative electronic hardware/software solutions.
Write test plans, procedures, and reports based on industry test standards. Analyze, develop, and deploy high performance hardware and software solutions.
Design, develop, debug, validate, and verify the fabrication of manual and automated test equipment.
Develop and maintain documentation including schematics, software documentation, and configuration deliverables.
Maintain existing test systems through bug fixes, improvement, and modifications.
Provide product line support functions.
Able to travel domestically.

Qualifications

BS in mechanical, aerospace or related engineering is required. MS degree a plus.
5-10 years of overall engineering experience with 1-3 of those years in a leadership/supervisory position.
Project Management experience required. PMP certification a plus.
Demonstrated familiarity with thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics required.
Experience with industrial/aerospace high power variable & fixed frequency motor drives a plus.
Must be able to communicate well with all facets of the organization including Management, Engineering and Manufacturing.
Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project are required. Expertise in NI LabView, Microsoft Visio, and AutoCAD are also desirable.
