Reporting to the Country Manager in Colombia, the incumbent is responsible for the main legal aspects of IATA in Colombia, and also to hold the legal representation of the Air Transport Association of Colombia (ATAC). The incumbent is expected to support all lobbying, regulatory or any other activity of the associations with legal content and to drive the legal strategy in regards of any IATA or ATAC initiative in Colombia.
Support the Country Manager in specific legal issues developing in Colombia, including the legal representation of the Air Transport Association of Colombia (ATAC), all legal responsibilities regarding ATAC’s Board of Governors, el Fondo Nacional de Turismo (FONTUR) and others;
Participate on behalf of the association in the key regulatory processes in ColombiaSupport the Country Manager in Colombia in advocating key industry positions to the government, the Congress and other regulatory authorities;
Provide guidance and leadership on key regulatory issues, including coordinating the lobbying for IATA positions on the main Colombian regulatory issues;
Work closely with other divisions on all cross functional areas to build, maintain and support strong stakeholder management with airlines, governments and all entities in relation to issues affecting members and airline business;
Participate in building and maintaining proactive approach to relationships with Member airlines and other industry stakeholders, including airports, government authorities, suppliers and service providers in Colombia;
Create and maintain relevant partnerships;
Promote IATA’s policies, positions, objectives, activities, services and products among airlines, government, airports and other industry stakeholders in Colombia;
Attend meetings and conferences with industry stakeholders, organize meetings as appropriate;
Support the organization of IATA events in the region including Aviation Days and others.
Qualifications and Skills
Technical Knowledge/Skills, Aptitude Essential Desirable

Ability to negotiate and deal with different opinions of stakeholders X
Knowledge on commercial law and specific laws of associations in Colombia , combined with experience on holding the legal representation of a company or association X

Since IATA is servicing customers and members throughout the Americas' region candidates must be willing to work in dedicated shifts, possibly on weekends or official public holidays. Compensation applies in accordance with the local Conditions of Employment. X
