Job Description

CACI is looking for an experienced Flight Software Test and Verification (T&V) Systems Engineer to support the Lunar Gateway Program at NASA Johnson Space Center with software systems engineering, verification, and testing skills in the design, development, and testing of data-driven flight software. This engineering position involves analyzing, decomposing, and developing detailed flight software requirements; writing automated verification test scripts; interfacing with and configuring the project’s verification test automation tool; and adding features to the tool as necessary.

Job responsibilities include:

* Perform requirements analysis of flight software including deriving detailed requirements from vehicle subsystem specifications, decomposing higher level requirements, and writing new requirements.
* Defining verification test criteria.
* Writing automated verification test scripts using Python.
* Interfacing with and configuring the tests to run with the project’s verification test automation tool.
* Adding features to the verification test automation tool as necessary.
* Interface with NASA and contractor engineering teams.

This work takes place at NASA/JSC in Houston, TX, a highly stimulating and dynamic environment that is critical in human space flight and the space exploration initiative.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

* Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to facilitate access to USG facilities.
* B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines required.
* At least five years of related experience in software systems engineering and verification testing.
* Experience with requirements analysis including decomposing existing requirements and writing new requirements.
* Experience with automated testing.
* Strong Python development skills.
* Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision.
* Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic.
* Must have highly developed coordination and organization skills.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
* M.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
* C/C++ software development skills.
* Experience with GitLab and the git version control system.
* Experience with Doxygen.
* Experience with NASA’s Core Flight Software (CFS).
* Experience in embedded software development for safety-critical software.
* Experience with autonomous systems.
* Experience with Real-time Operating Systems and Time-Triggered Ethernet.
* Experience in avionics and flight software development for human-rated space vehicle, e.g., Space Shuttle, International Space Station, Commercial Crew Vehicles, or Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle.
* Experience in the full life cycle of human-rated flight projects.
