Procurement & Logistics Manager

Vortex Aviation is a Global Turbine Engine Support Company with locations in Florida, Singapore and Ireland. From our current European base in Shannon, Ireland we provide support for Narrow/Wide aircraft engine models for Engine Repairs, Lease Return Inspections, long and short-term storage as well as 24/7 AOG support across Europe and neighbouring countries.

We are currently expanding our operations to Dublin which will include brand new facility close to Dublin Airport. As a result we currently have a number of vacancies including a Procurement & Logistics Manager.

 

Procurement & Logistics Manager Role and Responsibility:

Reporting to the maintenance manager duties will include the management of the Procurement and Logistics department across various sites within Vortex Ireland.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

·        Sourcing and procurement of material for CFM56 series, CF6-80, V2500, PW2000/4000, RB211 engines

·        Oversee and manage RFQ's, lead times and purchase orders to help deliver engine repair on schedules.

·        Negotiate with repair shops for the overhaul and repair of engine parts

·        Responsibility for Customs compliance for all engines and materials entering and exiting the facility

·        Managing of Goods Inwards Material Inspection

·        Responsible for the shipments of Dangerous Goods.

·        Ensuring the health and safety, security, upkeep of buildings to meet Customs and IAA standards.

·        Create all repair and purchase orders on QuickBooks accounting system.

·        IAA Approved Security Manager responsible for Known Consignor approval for Vortex Aviation Ireland.

·        Preparation of material quotes for engine projects

·        Co-Ordinator of the Health & Safety for the facility

·        Responsibility for management and upkeep of the facility

·        Management of the materials department to comply with the MOE

·        Purchase and management of tooling, ensuring that tools are calibrated and load-tested on time

·        Manage all incoming and outgoing shipment of engines and material

·        Liase with maintenance department in relation to preservations of engines

 

 

Minimum Skills & Experience Required:

·        Certificate level in a relevant discipline or 5 years direct experience in an aviation spares discipline

·        Must be conversant with EASA 145 Regulations regarding the acceptance, storage and handling of all types of Aircraft spares

·        Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel.

·        Possess good communication skills

·        Hold a full clean drivers’ licence

·        Forklift License an advantage

·        Dangerous goods certified training an advantage

·        IAA approved Security Manager familiar with Known Consignor regulations an advantage

·        Experience purchasing aircraft material a requirement.

 

Salary and benefits

·        Competitive basic salary depending on experience

·        Workshop Shift Pattern: Mon-Fri (Non-Shift)   

 

Other information:

·        During periods of high volumes, you may be required to provide support to other areas of the business and some travel will be expected

·        Occasional requirements to work additional hours beyond normal working hours to include weekends and holidays

·        You will be expected to attend internal & external training courses
