Line Maintenance Controller
Loganair operates a comprehensive network of scheduled and charter flights around the United Kingdom. The flying programme is well supported by our engineering function, having a base maintenance facility at Glasgow Airport, and Line stations at: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness, Kirkwall, Sumburgh, Londonderry, Chester, Bristol and Norwich. Our aircraft fleet consists of Embraer 135/145, ATR-42/72, Saab 340, Twin Otter and BN-2 Islanders. The engineering function has around 200 employees within it, comprising Part 145, Part M and Part 147.
Applications are invited from experienced B1 or B2 licensed aircraft engineers to join the engineering team in the Supervisory position of Line Maintenance Controller. This senior engineering role is critical to the safe and reliable operation of the Loganair fleet.
The LMC role is a hub and a main contact point for engineers and flight crew. The role is focused on arranging and prioritising maintenance work that arises on an ad hoc basis and is office based. Work instructions are then delegated from LMC to various engineering stations to progress the repairing of defects.
It is a challenging role, coordinating work relative to engineering resources and availability, while seeking to work against the clock to return aircraft back to service in a safe and timely manner. Persuasion and the ability to juggle several tasks simultaneously would be requirements of the role holder.
In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills in parallel with the ability to think clearly, quickly, being able to weigh up various developing situations and deliver solutions that best meet the needs of the business – in terms of delivering the flying operation and also being mindful of the reputation and perception of the company. Sound influencing skills are a pre-requisite of the job holder and this will be based on having a thorough knowledge of our aircraft types.
In particular, the successful candidate will be responsible for short term planning of all the fleet maintenance and defects, management of recurring defects, advising engineers, pilots and operation teams to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the fleet. As a senior engineering employee you will be expected to deal with maintenance and operational issues as they arise.
An attractive package is associated with the role, including staff travel privileges and generous holiday provisions.
