We have exciting new opportunities to join Flybe as a Line Engineer. We are looking for driven and enthusiastic Aircraft Engineers who hold a B1 and/or B2 licence to join our line maintenance team in Belfast.  

With a number of based aircraft at each of our line stations and multiple turnarounds throughout the day you can be assured that no day will ever be the same. Working within a small team you will be responsible for ensuring our flights depart safely, working closely with our maintenance team at our headquarters to ensure flights depart our airports on time. If you want to join a team of like-minded friendly individuals with brilliant benefits, then we may be the company for you;

Our teams are expected to: 

  • Carry out line maintenance tasks reporting to your shift supervisor
  • Be available to work away from base during your shift
  • Comply fully with health & safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out other duties as required for the running of the line station.

We are looking for engineers who: 

  • Have experience of line maintenance
  • Are self-motivated with a degree of flexibility and the ability to adapt to the changing requirements of the operation.
  • Have the ability to prioritise their tasks and able to work effectively under pressure to carry out routine line and defect rectification work and recover AOG aircraft.
  • Are able to work away from base at short notice if the operation requires.
  • Hold a B1 and/or B2 licence with at least one type rating held. Preference will be given to those holding E190/170 and Q400 type ratings but training will be given to the right candidates.
Essential Criteria

  • Lead by example through behaviour and as a practising engineer carrying out hands on tasks as and when time allows.
  • Able to act up as Senior Licensed Engineer as requested.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to lead small groups of Engineers on task.
  • Good awareness of Aviation safety.
  • Good role model/mentor to apprentices/trainees.
  • Able to operate a powerset (GPU).
