Triumph Engine Control Systems is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter, and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 500 personnel. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.
We are currently seeking a Lead Project Engineer to join our Electronics Engineering team. You will be involved in the design and development of electronic engine controls targeted for Aerospace applications. Involvement in every aspect of product development; beginning with concept design through product validation and ultimately transition of the product into production.
Demonstrated team leadership experience working in an IPD team environment (multifunctional groups)
Ability to multi-task, execute cross-functional activities, and drive projects to successfully meet key program milestones on time.
Ensure new product introduction (NPI) development procedures are adhered to and that recommendations for continuous improvement relative to lessons learned are communicated and incorporated into revised procedures.
Review/monitor schedule and budget commitments relative to assigned projects and communicate risks to management.
Support engineering development tasks
Production operations liaison
Test and troubleshooting of electronic controls
Preparation of component specifications, test plans, and test reports
Oversight of electronics development and validation activities
Foster good working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
Self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field of study required.
7 plus years of experience working in an electronics product development environment.
Prior experience leading IPD teams from design to production.
Understanding of Microsoft Desktop tools (project, word, excel, powerpoint, etc.)
Strong technical writing skills, comfortable with presentations in group settings/meetings
Familiar with interpretation of electrical schematics/circuit functions
Familiar with control systems design
