Job Title: Lead Aircraft Conditioner
Job Description: SUMMARY:
The Aircraft Conditioner Lead shall be responsible to the Facilities Supervisor for the daily operation of aircraft cleaning and necessary documentation. The Aircraft Conditioner Lead supervises daily operations of aircraft conditioner personnel.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise the activities of 25 or more Aircraft Conditioners on a two-shift operation. Inspect work accomplished by Conditioners and sign off paperwork
2. Responsible for training Aircraft Conditioners to locate jobs on aircraft and to become familiar with aircraft zones and flight controls.
3. Estimate all non-routines that are generated for aircraft conditioners.
4. Ensure that department employees adhere to safe/clean working practices and that all hangars and ramps are clean.
5. Responsible for issuing and receiving ground support equipment.
6. Teach aircraft conditioners to use MSDS.
7. Attend daily production meetings. Ensure that all aircraft paperwork is completed, signed off and bought back by the Q.C. department.
8. Ensure that soap dispenser machine, pressure washers and other equipment used at the wash rack are in working order and repair equipment as required. Responsible for ordering soap and maintaining proper inventory of soap at all times.
9. Provide continuous monitoring of work in progress; maintain good customer relations.
10. Maintain all personnel matters and paperwork; responsible for setting performance standards, conducting timely performance reviews, employee discipline, training and coaching of employees.
11. Identify, control, segregate and maintain all company owned and customer owned material in compliance with company policies and procedures and industry standards of practice and procedures.
12. Evaluate departmental operations recommending improvements in quality, productivity and employee relations. Implement programs and/or procedures that strive for excellence in quality as maintained by VT SAA’s Quality Assurance program. Resolve departmental problems by identifying the problem, researching alternatives, analyzing the costs and benefits, implementing the best alternative and evaluating the end results.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Good working knowledge or the ability to acquire skills in the following:
The ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, by presenting ideas and giving instructions/guidance to subordinates, co-workers, supervisors and outside agencies in a manner that instructions are carried out and requested information is obtained; ability to motivate and lead a staff or team of subordinates to obtain goals, higher productivity and quality work; the ability to delegate and prioritize work effectively; creative; persuasive.

Experience: One year aircraft conditioner experience or six-twelve months aircraft lead/supervisory experience.
