Position Description:

IT Technical Support Intern
Provides end user technical support for desktop operating systems and company standard applications in a Windows-based corporate network environment. Primary responsibility will be to assist in IT lifecycle management including system setup, software installation, upgrades, user data migration and hardware disposition. Intern will also Tier 1 Help Desk call center support for Windows OS and desktop applications via phone, in person and remote control as needed for issue diagnosis and resolution. Expected to help identify and resolve cyber security threats and complete assigned tasks on IT projects.

Required proficiencies:
• Windows 10/8.x/7 operating systems and features including
o GUI and system configuration
o Internet Explorer
o Active Directory authentication
o File and print services
• Office 365 applications: Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Skype for Business
• PC hardware support and troubleshooting
• Support for applications using Adobe PDF, Java, etc.
• Application of cyber security concepts including Windows firewall, anti-virus/anti-malware, best practices and threat remediation
• Network infrastructure including TCP/IP v4, VPN, Ethernet and WiFi
• Remote support tools such as Remote Desktop, TeamViewer, VNC and PDQ deploy
Desired proficiencies and/or certifications
• IT service desk applications such as Spiceworks or Zendesk
• Cybersecurity suites and tools, especially Symantec Endpoint Protection, Crowdstrike and Triton
• Experience with engineering software support including Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCAD, SVN
• Salesforce customer relationship management
• Apple iOS Mobile device support
• ShoreTel telephony including Communicator and Mobility solution
• Current Microsoft desktop support certifications including MCSE, MCSA, MOS, MTA
• IT service delivery training/certification such as ITIL Foundations
