Job purpose

We are looking for a dynamic candidate to provide both software and hardware support to all Flybe staff and the systems they use on a daily basis. This includes resolving technical problems using a methodical &detailed approach to problem solving. You will be required to plan and implement IT requirements as requested by the business and will need to excel in responsive and professional customer service. 

 

Required Operational Hours

Exeter office-based support Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30 and 09:30-18:00 on a weekly rotation

After successful completion of training and probation on-call maybe required. 

 

Key responsibilities

  • To perform all activities in a friendly, approachable, customer-orientated manner 
  • To log and keep an accurate record of each job performed via the IT Service Desk system
  • Customer facing/deskside support often required  
  • To maintain the network and the users on it via network tools 
  • To perform asset management by tagging all equipment that leaves the IT Service Desk 
  • Provide first-line support to Windows and Android users. 
  • Troubleshoot issues with printers/MFP's
  • To maintain and update systems daily as requested by the business . 
  • Undertake your role whilst being mindful of the Flybe values - below
  • On-call could be required after successful probation

 

Health and Safety 

  • Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities 
  • Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work

 

Essential Skills and Qualifications 

  • A strong working knowledge of PCs, Operating Systems, Printers, Networks & Telecommunications 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange/Active Directory and its administration 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Packages such as Office, Project & Visio 
  • Experience using antivirus and other security tools 
  • Ability to analyse, troubleshoot and fix IT problems 
  • A strong eye for detail 
  • Ability to multitask and evaluate priorities
  • Excellent customer service and all-round communication skills 
  • Driving licence required

 

Desirable Skills 

  • Understanding of network configuration 
  • Understanding of ITIL processes
