Specific Job Description

The candidate will support a number of different programmes, with the responsibility for Laboratory support, as well as supporting design, integration and test activities. This role will include aspects of electrical and mechanical design, development, installation and repair. The role will report to the Specialist Engineering Manager, and will take technical guidance from the appropriate Engineering Lead The candidate will be encouraged to work in a variety of environments, learning new skills with support from a wealth of experienced engineers, and will be expected to generate products that meet the standards and processes defined in company processes as well as the documented requirements

Required skills, qualifications and experience

Required Skills5 GCSEs (A* to C) including Maths, English and Information & Communications Technology (or equivalent qualification).
A Levels / BTEC Level 3 in related subjects
You will have an interest in Hardware Development and Engineering, including ensuring that equipment operates correctly and a basic understanding of the aspects that this entails.
You will have a keen interest in how things work, and be motivated by creating solutions for challenging problems.
Ability to work well in a team environment
Problem determination & resolution
Good IT skills in a range of SW packages would be an advantage
Logical and careful approach to analysing requirements, creating appropriate test requirements and developing implementation solutions, as well as an understanding of the role of test in ensuring delivery of mature products.
You will have the ability to learn, the desire to be part of a team and be able to cope with a very busy and demanding role, and exhibit
Good Communication skills
Good Writing skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Good IT skills in a range of SW packages
Ability to prioritise own tasking to meet programme needs

Desired skills, qualifications and experience

Familiarity with any of the following:
• Telelogic DOORS requirements toolset
• Generation of reports and undertaking analysis using typical office environment tools such as Word, Powerpoint, Access, and Excel
• Database development and management
• Electrical Engineering background • Ability to read and interpret design and assembly drawings
