The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and technical expertise of aviation and best practices related to running an IOCC, have outstanding leadership and communication skills with a proven track record in team management and development.

Accountabilities

 

  • Be the decision maker on shift; make sound judgements and action plans based on feedback collected from colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Act as the central point of contact between Executive Management, other company departments, external parties, and other relevant stakeholders on day to day operation matters so that communications are always clear, concise, consistent in appropriate detail and efficiently executed in a timely manner.
  • Leading and managing IOCC team members to deliver the highest levels of professionalism and performance in all operational duties and ensuring the safe and efficient utilization of all operational flight crew to meet planned requirements.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of all Crew Control, Scheduling, Operations Control, Flight Dispatch, full adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements plus company policies and procedures so that all operational activities achieve the highest levels of aviation safety and standards.
  • Efficiently and effectively operating and monitoring all flights, establishing schedules, and using systems/data to ensure the best routing and flight planning to optimize resources.
  • Ensuring that all IT and communications systems are continually assessed, maintained, and enhanced to support the seamless operation of the IOCC.
  • Responding to any unplanned or crisis flight situations that arise, resolving issues and finding solutions that are safe, cost-effective, and timely, while at all times fully achieving all mission objectives to serve our VVIP passengers and guests.
  • Ensuring all members of IOCC are adequately trained, authorized, and empowered to fully execute their duties to the highest possible levels of quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Remain in close contact with the Pilot-in-Command to ensure the smooth operation of all flight operations.
  • Deputise for the Operations Controller as necessary to manage all flight dispatch tasks and requirements.
  • Supporting the Director of Ground Operations & OCC to manage the resource planning of the IOCC team, including initial & recurrent training, duty roster production and maintenance, induction training, absence management including sick leave and annual leave approvals and general performance & development planning for each member of the team.

 

 

Experience & Qualifications

 

  • Outstanding leadership & communication skills with a proven track record in team management and development.
  • Previous relevant experience that demonstrate exposure to high levels of responsibility & accountability.
  • Extensive knowledge and technical expertise in aviation industry best practices related to running an IOCC and leading teams in global operation’s mission control.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing systems and processes that benefit the IOCC team.
  • Familiarity with Emergency response procedures and planning in the aviation industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and the systems and communications equipment found within a modern IOCC global aviation operation.
  • Proficiency in English (a must) with Arabic or another language being strongly preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge & comprehension of Regulatory and Compliance awareness with at least 8 years of relevant operational experience, with at least 3 years as a Duty Manager within an IOCC with a VIP or business aviation aircraft operation.
  • A licensed flight dispatcher qualification with advanced knowledge in all aspects of aircraft flight planning.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management or a similar qualification in aviation or Airport Operations, or a related field is preferred.
