We currently have a vacancy for a former RAF Trade Group 5 Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Training Specialist in the Typhoon Training Facility at RAF Coningsby.
As a Training Specialist, you will be designing (with appropriate guidance) and then delivering Typhoon aircraft specific AGE training to students and undertaking appropriate assessments to ensure that each one develops the skills and is able to demonstrate the ability to perform the activities and tasks required in the domain of training.
You will be responsible for operating and maintaining operational AGE, ensuring it is fit for the required training exercise.
WORKING HOURS - ON BASE
5 days p/wk (Mon-Fri) around relevant site core hours (7.30am - 4.30pm Mon - Thurs, 7.30am - 12pm Fri).
Hours required to work per week are 37.00 unless otherwise stated (this does not include lunch breaks).
Start and finish times to be agreed with local Line Management, in accordance with local site core hours.
Lunch break allowance is 30 minutes between 12.30 - 1:00pm (or as agreed with Line Manager). 30 mins will automatically be deducted each working day by the electronic time management system.
Dependant on workload, local management may request more or less hours are worked within this contract.
Candidates should be aware that this position may involve shift work
Nightshift pattern Days: 07:30 till 16:00hrs and Nights: 16:00 to 02:00hrs
The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following:
Standard student responsibilities for an instructor, in accordance with TTF Local Operating Procedures. ?
Broad knowledge of RAF AGE and specific knowledge of Typhoon AGE Skills:
Experienced with Typhoon specific AGE - desirable
Previous experience of course design and training delivery
Coaching and mentoring more junior or less experienced staff, ensuring that they understand the systems and protocols associated with the work and tasks. Ensuring that their work is reviewed and approved
Delivering training to students and undertaking appropriate assessments to ensure that each student develops the skills and is able to demonstrate the ability to perform the activities and tasks required in the domain of training
Providing advice on the updating of the course syllabus within their area of expertise
Carrying out course design activity course ware, instructional specifications and course notes so as to meet the syllabus or emerging training tasks
Updating training materials to reflect maintenance policy changes and system upgrades, in order to meet the developing or changing requirements of the customer within scope of authorised approvals
Managing and operating AGE, ensuring it is fit for the required training exercise
Maintaining student records and providing overall governance and sign off of delivery of training and student records
Adhering to the training schedules and delivery programmes to meet the needs and requirements of the customer
Providing specialist advice and guidance to other instructors/ operators in post
Holds a TG5 C&G mechanical or electrical trade training certificate from RAF St Athan and is a very experienced AGE maintainer - essential
Instructor Qualification would be highly desirable (Defence Train The Trainer 2 (DTTT) Course or civilian Level 3 equivalent). Previous experience of course design and training delivery.
Has attained a HNC or equivalent level 4 qualification in an engineering field
The candidate must be good with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook
