Ever wanted the opportunity to operate a fantastic H145 in one of the most stunning and challenging environments in the world, then this job could be for you!  Gama Aviation provide air ambulance and HEMS support for people across the whole of Scotland and are actively seeking interest from experienced helicopter pilots who want to be part of our dynamic team.  Depending upon the role undertaken, you will be placed on either an equal-time or touring roster, with comprehensive training provided for the right individual who can rise to the challenge and demonstrate commitment to this globally successful aviation company.
If you’ve had some experience in an onshore capacity and are comfortable operating both single-pilot IFR and at night, then please apply to be considered for this exciting venture.  Further career opportunities are likely to be available for pilots with training or management experience.  We would also be interested in receiving enquiries from freelancers qualified on the H145 and experienced in the HEMS role.  Applications close 12th March 2021.
Suitable applicants will be invited to discuss their aspirations by phone in the first instance, with MS Teams interviews conducted thereafter.  Please do not apply unless you can demonstrate an ability to meet the person specification detailed below.

The Person:

  • Current EASA ATPL(H) or CPL(H) with Instrument Rating
  • Minimum 1500 hours as pilot-in-command of aircraft, of which 500 hours is as PIC on twin-turbine helicopters
  • Minimum 1500 hours twin-turbine helicopter experience
  • Minimum 500 hours operating experience in helicopters, gained in an environment similar to the intended operation
  • Minimum 100 hours IFR, of which 25 hours IFR flight experience has been achieved in the relevant operating environment
  • Minimum 40 hours as pilot-in-command of helicopters at night
  • Fluent English, driving licence, right to live & work in the UK


Desirable Requirements:

  • H145 type rating
  • Familiarity with AOC HEMS operations
  • NVIS experience
  • TRI or TRE qualifications
