What we are looking for in IATA Africa and the Middle East

In order to deliver more value to our members and customers, to overcome our unique regional geographical and operational challenges, and to maximize the opportunities we have across the region, we are presently looking for a Head, Program Management Office.

The incubment defines and maintains standards and Service Level Agreements (SLA) for project management within the region in order to have a streamlined approach and an independent oversight over the execution of all projects. The PMO assesses the regional performance against agreed AME Master Plan, maintains a risk registry and provides mitigation solutions.

Responsibilities

•Develop and maintain standardized project management procedures and tools, including dashboards and roadmaps;

•Drive regional adoption and implementation of project and program management methodologies, principles, standards and best practices

•Plan and track Project Management and budget information, efficiency, cost savings, improvement to processes to support project delivery and performance by delivery teams against consolidated regional project plan.

•Oversee Quality Assurance for post implementation project assessment

•Develop and implement strategic programs that adhere to corporate strategic direction, yield the cost savings and synergies expected, improve return on investment and enhance delivery against target priorities and outcomes

•Monitor allocation of resources, recommends reallocation of resources (financial and human) depending on needs with the overall goal of achieving the targets, in time, on budget and to the customer satisfaction.

•Improve the consistency, predictability and efficiency of the project delivery artifacts

•Coach project leaders in all aspects of Project Management Practices

•Oversee preparation of key management communications such as project presentations, status reports, budget reports, etc.

•Provide constructive feedback and support in identifying solutions to improve outcomes and service effectiveness

•Liaise with other regions and central team as may be necessary for additional support, alignment or for purposes of providing feedback.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Qualifications

•Bachelor's Degree in business administration or any other relevant area,

•Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in managing, leading and overseeing projects or running a program management office with at least 3 years of experience in a management role at a regional level

•PMP or PRINCE certification

•Advanced Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project and CRMs (e.g. Salesforce)

•Fluency in English (CEFR: C1)

Preferred Qualifications

•Advanced degree is an asset e.g. MBA

•Experience in the aviation industry is an asset

•Experience in setting up a PMO

•Experience in Business Consulting

•Proficiency in regional languages (CEFR B1)
