The Head of Flight Safety reports to the CEO and is responsible for proposing safety policy, monitoring its implementation and providing an independent overview of company activities in so far as they affect safety, maintenance, review and revision of the safety program, timely advice and assistance on safety matters to managers at all levels, and a reporting system for hazards.
Promote safety awareness within the organization.
Encourage the occurrence reporting culture.
Ensure that safety management has the same or higher priority level throughout organization as any other management and operational processes.
Report and investigate aircraft and ground safety.
Manage all aspects of the organization’s SMS, including:
Monitoring the effectiveness of SMS;
Initiating corrective actions when necessary;
Providing safety reports on SMS performance on periodic basis
Ensuring that safety-related documentation and records are available and up-to-date.
Manage the airline’s Flight Data Monitoring Program and analyze trends.
CORE COMPTETENCIES & SKILLS REQUIRED:
At least 10 years of commercial airline experience as a Captain, current on jet engine aircraft, preferably on Airbus or Boeing type
Experience in flight safety management and FDM (Flight Date Management)
Experience in developing and maintaining SMS (Safety Management Systems)
Deep understanding of human factors affecting safety
Knowledge of accident/Incident investigation and prevention
BSc degree from an accredited university in Aviation related field would be an advantage.
