Applications are invited for an experienced B1.3 licensed engineer for a private H145 D2 helicopter operation supporting a globally cruising yacht.

Luviair’s core business is to provide a safe, professional and efficient helicopter management service to a select group of VIP clients. We operate throughout Europe and attached to super yachts in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and world-wide.  

This position offers a generous package commensurate with experience.

Job Description

When on duty the successful candidate will live onboard the support vessel in shared accommodation or ashore in hotels. General duties involve:

  • Light maintenance tasks, primarily aircraft husbandry, general care of the aircraft on board the yacht, and release to service duties after minor maintenance (such as blade folding/removal).
  • Maintenance coordination with the CAMO/Part 145 ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed of all planned and unplanned maintenance requirements.
  • Performing base maintenance at the Part 145 workshop during maintenance periods as required and as permitted.
  • Assisting the commander both on the ground (with passengers, luggage, fuel, doors) and in flight (with outlook, frequencies, navigation, checklists).
  • Trained to be able to safely bring the aircraft back to the ground. 

The crew composition is two commanders plus two engineers/safety crew-members. The position offers an equal time on / time off roster (typically 3 weeks on, followed by 3 weeks off), up to 198 days per year including recurrent training.

Skills & Experience

The H145 engineer will be a good communicator, possess excellent attention to detail and will be thorough and methodical in their approach to their work. The successful candidate will demonstrate an enthusiasm for the position and willingness to go the extra mile. 


  • A current EASA B1.3 licence.
  • Qualified and experienced maintaining on Airbus Helicopters light medium twins products and Safran Arriel engine series.
  • Good working knowledge of the Helionix Ground Station suite
  • Good working knowledge of Windows 10
  • Available to travel world-wide and comfortable working onboard a super yacht.
  • Fluent in English.


  • Qualified on Airbus H145 D2 or BK117 C2 and Safran Arriel 2e engines, level 1.
  • Avionic defect diagnosis experience.
  • Previous safety crew-member experience.
  • Blue Eye Airworthiness software knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of the French language.
