SUMMARY: Provide maintenance and repair of all ground support equipment and vehicles. Maintain safe equipment for Aircraft Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties include the following items:

* Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic repair of all support equipment and vehicles using approved materials and procedures as necessary.

* Complete paperwork and properly document work performed.

* Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and vehicles per program requirements using approved procedures and documentation.

* Participate in cross training opportunities as assigned.

* Correspond daily with aircraft maintenance personnel and support group employees on equipment problems.

* Implements 5S improvements in the work area and maintains 5S principles in the work environment.

* Proactively support GSE department continuous improvement “lean” efforts, and support overall company continuous improvement efforts.

* Regular and prompt attendance.

* Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.

* Provide on-call support by intermittently carrying and responding to a cell phone or beeper.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: N/A

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:

Duties shall include observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensuring that employees are provided with full information on area specific safety orientation, identify all unique hazards, and provide employees with the proper equipment to carry out their jobs in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be routinely inspected so as to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE (general):

* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

* Basic math skills.

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to operate heavy equipment.

* Ability to track daily work in a database.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

* Four years related experience and /or certified training OR equivalent combination of education and experience and certification.

* Must be qualified or able to qualify to operate high lifts, scissor lifts, vehicles, back-up equipment, compressors, emergency generators, and compactors, etc.

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* ASE certification preferred.

* Forklift/Manlift experience preferred. Current WA Drivers License required.

* Current WA Drivers License required.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand; walk; and sit.

The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

ENVIRONMENT:

Normal business office conditions generally prevail. The noise level is usually low to moderate. Employee may be working in a cubicle, enclosed office, or open area. Floor may be carpeted or bare.
